Behavior Modification

At All-Pets Hospital, we consider your pet's behavior to be an integral part of its health and well-being. Excessive dog barking or cats using the laundry for a litterbox can certainly impact the human-animal bond. We strive to provide up to date behavior advice as an inherent part of our examinations and consultations.

Dr. Berge has a strong interest in canine behavior and training, with over 30 years of experience in dog training and showing Bernese Mt Dogs. She has exhibited her Berners in conformation, obedience, draft, rally and tracking. Our licensed veterinary technician, Rachel Crane, also has a strong interest in reward-based dog training using the clicker device. Rachel currently is teaching classes through Paws and Effect, a Des Moines based service dog organization. She is also available for individual consults about specific dog behaviors. Sylvia Stanton, our East Village receptionist, also has experience with dog behavior classes through her years spent at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.

Please call for more information about specific behavior issues.
